Darcy has a solid mid-brown face with little variation making her distinguishable from the other brown ewes (Dawn has a pale face blaze and Fern carries a red tint to her coat).
A 3 year old, she is by Cairnhill Galette out of a brown ewe called Halsham Ophelia. She carries brown genes predominantly through the maternal line, although the sire pedigree goes back to include Nuxi, the brown mother of the well-known Merinos Du Lutins de Montana who was white, but who carried the brown gene. She has already produced both brown and black lambs.
She has an evenly paler rump and spine that stand out against dark brown legs. Her tones are Christmas-sy; cinnamon, cocoa and dark chocolate. In the shot below, Darcy is front right.
