Chase is by Cairnhill Galette out of a Cammall ewe. Bred by Claire Occardi, Skipton, North Yorkshire, and stood initially at the Danaway flock in Cumbria. His grandfather was the well-known sire Spered Briezh Cracquelin registered in both France and the UK.
Aged 4, and the senior ram at Fair Green, Chase is an impressive ram with stature and presence. Characterised by a high head carriage, his noble set of horns make him look benevolent and dignified. Except when he arrived, with stitches from a disagreement with his relative, Ulpha.
He is towards the upper end of the breed scale for height, with beautiful proportions - his photographs make him look enormous, but he is absolutely still a Breton dwarf. Charmingly, he has tiny pink flecks on his nose, and flickers his whiskers when he comes up to say hello. Chase likes people and straw bales. He dislikes the teak wooden chair I put by his paddock (he out-stared it for a whole hour). Happy, easy to handle, top ram and he knows it.
Chase has a touch of James Bond about him - glamorous, tough, and courteous - he's also a hit with the ladies with 'come hither' eyes and the big bad-boy horns!
